Sprogcafe Launched

The Language Cafe opened last Thursday, the 25th of November in Simon Peters Church. There were three volunteers who came and four students, representing countries of origin like China, Iran, USA and the Philippines.

Within one and a half hours, the group was able to learn each other's names and proceeded to one to one encounter over a cup of tea or coffee. The office laid a guideline for the volunteers in taking up personal matters to talk about like description of one's self, family, things one likes, Denmark, description of one's own country  and learning new vocabulary words, while giving attention to the questions that each student may raise or may need to be helped.

Language Cafe is every Thursday in a week in Simon Peters Church at 3 - to 4.30 pm. Please spread the news to others who may benefit from this activity-

The Language Encounter activity has been going on from the month of November without stop. For now we have four volunteers who have regularly given their time for this program, sharing their willingness to support those who are willing to practice and improve their Danish language.

So far the program has witnessed the following persons who have availed of this offer: 1 Chinese, 3 Filipinos, 1 American, 1 Sudanese, 1 Hungarian, 1 Iranian.

We know that any starting program takes time to be on full swing. We do need help of churches and friends to dessiminate information on this language service. It is possible that we can further offer English in the near future. This is just depending on the need that will be expressed to us.
